I have a folder with audio files. Windows XP allows me to sort file by album, year. track time, etc. which is great.

But, of course I also want to sort by the date modified. To do this I have to go to View > Choose Details and check "Date Modified". However when I close the folder and open it again, I have to go through the same process.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Does "Choose Details" perform a "Sort" or is it just showing those details you highlight?

If you want to sort by date modified does selecting this option from View/ Arrange Icons, work?

Appologies if I have misunderstood your question.

For Folder settings in general.

Sometimes windows XP forgets it's folder view settings.

"Here is the solution.

Backup these RegKeys.

1:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU]

2:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags]

After that you must delete them.

Restart windows to take effect.

Now you can change each folder and the setting will stay."
