I just got this Vaio last night. I was trying to connect to the internet from work. At work we use a DSL line and a SOHO 2 firewall. The Vaio is running XP Home. I first tried the internet connection wizard which couldn't even find the DHCP server to get an IP address. So I put in the IP address,WINS,DNS and default gateway manually. Still no joy.

At this point I tried to ping the default gateway, which was on the private side of the network. This was fine. I tried the public side of the firewall also good. I could not ping the DSL router.

It's ,I think, some setting in XP I've forgotten, since I can ping the router from any other workstation in the office(all NT 4.0).

Right now I have the Vaio plugged into the back of the router, which the wizard had no problems connecting with/to the internet. Does anyone have a suggestion I what I missed?
