In version 8.5 of Crystal Reports, when we use the Select Expert it only reads the first 500 or so lines out of the DB and uses the values it finds there to populate the drop-down list box. Thus some of the values are not available for us to select; if you know the value yo can manually type it in and the report will use those manually entered criteria. We realize this is to make the browsing faster in a large database, but we would rather take the performance hit and have it easier for some of our users by allowing them to select from all their criteria.

Any registry hack or other way to fully populate those drop down list boxes?
Any ideas if 9.x or newer handles this situation differently?

Thanks!

This is exactly correct. This is controlled by a registry setting. Look for a registry key entitled 'MaxNBrowswValues' and change the value of that key to some number large enough for your database, and this behavior will go away.

Any idea how to solve this problem in Crystal 10? The drop downs have over 50 items but still not enough.
