I'm brand new to Quark (have used Pagemaker for many years) and am getting very frustrated very quickly. I've received some templates (for CD booklets and tray card), but they are for large printing press sized paper, so I need to make, for example, a booklet template that will print each page on a separate 8.5"x11" paper. Managed to delete enough guides, etc., so that I have a template with one page to print on the paper, but I can't make copies of that page (which is like a 2 page "booklet"
so that I can have a 4 or 8 page booklet. Here are my first questions:
1. How can I make the page 1 the master page (with all the guides, etc.), since Quark only seems to be able to insert new pages based on the master page (which is blank).
2. I tried copying the boxes, guides, etc., from the existing page to a new page and could not copy and paste with either <ctrl><C> and <ctrl><V> or Edit/Copy and Edit/Paste (both of which were grayed out). I can't even copy a box or other item to another location on the same page. How do you do this?
I'm using Quark 5.01 on Windows XP. Any suggestions in addition to answers to the above questions would be greatly appreciated. (Yes, I've ordered Quark 5 for Dummies and the Quark "bible", but they won't arrive for a few days.)
Thanks, Bob
