Don't know if these will actually help anyone or not but here are a couple of files that I made to help out people I work with.

The first one is some working examples of some simple functions such as VLOOKUP's, Different array formula's and some other commonly used functions.

The Second is a spread sheet that looks up what time zone US and Canadian Telephone are in.

Hope these can help someone out.

Regards -

Wray

WOW, this is FANTASTIC information.... the Area Codes list, where did you get the source data from...the example file ROCKS!!!!

Y'all should check this example file out! GREAT WORK!!

Thank You ladyck3, I cant remember where I got the source data from, I searched on google for it. Been trying to find a data source that is updated that I can link to.

Cheers,

Wray

Great examples; star-worthy!

A good source for up-to-date area codes is the North American Numbering Plan website ( However, as its name implies, it only contains information for North America.

I must be somewhat dim - I can not see the data on the Area Code worksheet. Where is it?

IFRs,

The data on the area code sheet is on a hidden sheet. The workbook is protected, if you would like to get to the data the password is cameron.

I'd be more appreciative of the link if it hadn't had six pop-ups and attempted to load Gator on my machine.

Well I'm sorry for the link, I put it on a site that I have access to from work...

My apologies to the popups.... I'll see about moving it tonight....

To those who were perturbed with the popups, I once again profusely apologize... here is a link to my real website, look to the technical resources area in the upper right:

The area code lookup isn't infallible. Unless I am looking at the formulas wrong, it looks like the file makes the assumption that all of the US observes Daylight Savings Time, which those of us in Indiana know is not true.

tho nice, it would've been better to have the user type in the City then display the area code...
