Customers wanting VMPro database and Visual Basic Scripting for use with Windows OS deployments will purchase Preferred Edition to obtain these capabilities."

What! No extra fee? Christmas came early this year [smile]

Kind regards

Don't go counting those chickens. They claimed the IP Office was "too much value" and came up with the essential edition licence to remedy that situation, they can always put the price of VM Pro up again :)

Yes also no support for any legacy 400 hardware beyond DS16/30v2s's and Phone 30v2s :)

Also I heard the uc module will be redesigned as well with no software loaded on it from day 1 so customer will have to use the iso image for this software install

There's plenty of good stuff though, ditching the 500 had to be done at some point, chassis are fairly cheap :)

...and then eBay will have a good stock of v1 chassis for the ones not going anywhere.
For once, everyone should be happy then.... (yeah, like that's gonna happen in my lifetime)

I wonder what will happen to the 500v1's with an IPOSS contract. New chassis for free?
Hah! They outsmarted themselves again!

Kind regards

Gunnar

They will just let the contract run, don't forget they support the last 2 releases so 9 and 9.1 and therefor 500s :)

Let's see how the SCN will work on split releases then...if you catch my drift.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I do.....that's covered IIRC, just a setting name change :)

Well, I tried SCN on 9.1 + 9.0.
VMPro did not like that mix at all. [smile]

Kind regards

With the degree of change of how the applications communicate with the switch in 9.1 I'm surprised that mixing with anything pre-9.1 hasn't been declared a no go.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Exactly my point, mixing R9.1 with other will become a nightmare, keeping track of what works, workarounds and no go's.

One issue was greyed out Save & Make live after creatimg custom mods. Had to click on Users first.

Kind regards

Gunnar

That's what the Beta testers are supposed to be detecting/getting sorted :)

On new systems, will it still be possible to aquire 9.0 instead of 9.1?

Sure as you can install 6.0 if you like.
