Hi,

This question is about software licenses for Visual Basic 6.

I'm getting a new server. It will run a Visual Basic 6 app
that is developed on the programmer's desktop. But the .exe executables will be on the server.

Since no development will be done on the server... will I still need to have a license for VB6 on the server?

Thanks, John

As far as I know... once you create an EXE on a licensed desktop... you can distribute the EXE to any other computer that does or does not have a license...

In this case it would be your Server...

Your server is just a distribution target...

Think about it this way:
When you make an app and place it on the web, does everyone who downloads it need a license?

good point, CubeE101

... of course if Microsoft had their way... :)

Thanks, John

Hi John:

You usually will find the answers to such questions of licensing in the file eula.txt, which is located in the root directory of the VB6 installation disc.
