software install/update problem on XP Home..

Hi guys I trid to install an update to a program (on a windows xp home machine)for a customer the other day and got faced with 'setup could not verify the integrity of file update.inf. make sure cryptographic services is running on this pc'
Ive checked 'services' and the service starts automaticaly. Anybody help shed some light on this please??
