I'm just so tired of reading and researching and hitting dead ends and people who just...well just don't seem to care. I'm hoping someone could give me some direction. I'm looking for info on the latest releases of software, patches and peps. I just want to cross ref. my current config with something that's new so I know where my system stands I have an option 61

There trying to put a cisco in and I'm trying to justify a no need to. I guess my motivation is I love my switch I just havent done this aspect of before. I don't even know whats relevant. Thanks in advance!

You have the last pre-succession release. 25.40b was very stable imo. I think the latest release is 4.5 (they started over with succession)

If they are thinking of Cisco it is probably for VOIP which you cannot support at your current level. You can upgrade though very easily without replacing your existing phones and setup.

Your patch list seems about right for 25.40. I didn't look at each individual patch but I remember there were alot of them.

Thanks much after w while the info seems to bleed over to the same thing I appreciate the insight ALOT, IF I wanted to make this the latest and greatest what avenues should I pursue.

upgrade to rls 4.5 with pent cpu's.. that is the only current offered upgrade.. you may not have to upgrade the cpu;s.. but i just installed cisco.. not voip, qsig pri, tdm between the nortel (81 rls 3) and the bcm.. works great, names, msg lamps.. i use the ncos of the trunks to give auth code to the cisco wireless for ld control.. if the company would have ponied up for voip in the nortel i would have not used the bcm.. but the network people actually think cisco knows how to to dialtone.. i've looked at there software and it looks like a bunch of school kids was playing.. very trashed, very slow.. i can dial an internal, put the wireless down and walk across the switchroom and pick up the set before it rings..

but i went to bcm one week class and they can be programed way better then that..

and welcome to the forum, unless your using otm, i've never seen a question posted here that did not rec, not only an answer but as much follow up as required.. it's sat and i'm on vacation so i don't answer as fast as during the week..

Thank you sir I'm trying to be thorough, Resources are our greatest ally. I havent been on in a while as I've been in IRAQ. Now I'm back with all my fingers and toes, but don't quite sleep as well any more. I helped rebuild some CO's in bagdad.I appreciate the help greatly for helping me and for the wonderful mentoring I look forward to working with you all in the future.

Armytechie,
