I'm having a problem that I think is related to softphones.
They just started using softphones and they have created red x errors.
They say "an extension with this ip address has already been configured"
Right now there are 6 red errors, 3 sets of ip addresses. the 3 addresses are ip addresses of PC that have softphone. In system,lan1,voip tab, H323 auto create tab was checked when I first looked at this problem. but now it is un-checked. These extensions are 6 digits long, not 3 like their other extensions. They are also greyed out and can not be deleted.
Anybody else have this issue?

I should have mentioned these extensions are SIP extensions.

Sounds like you have created the extn for the softphones incorrectly. You do not enter the IP aaddress and also don't need to use SIP extns, the softphone creates it's own temp extn (above highest extn number created in the system) and logs/hotdesks the number you enter onto that temp extn :)

I think these extensions where created when they login. Sometimes there are only 2 errors.
So when they logout some disappear. It is like 2 extensions are created when they login. Why a SIP extension is created???
They do not use SIP can I disable that somewhere?

That's how the softphone works... it creates temp extns and logs the user in on those extn's, if you only see them when they are connected that's fine. Trying to stop it creating them will only result in the softphone not working. It creates SIP extns as that's what the softphones uses :)

Indeed, fake sip extensions and the SIP softphone uses a SIP extension but a normal IP endpoint license.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

As per above
the only error is manager generating the red x when it shouldn't
you can safely ignore these.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

No it does create one for each softphone.
BUT when you close down the softphone then the fake extension will stay there for around ten minutes and then will be auto deleted.
