Softconsole - v9 Login issues

Hi

Am trying to install Soft console but keep getting "Login unsuccessful. Please try again" every time I try to login. System is IP500 V2 on 9.0.3 and have tried both 9.0.3 and 9.1 Softconsole.

User is set as receptionist (tried with basic user and office worker set) and have tried on 3 different PC's

System status shows error "PC partner login error - incorrect user id/password" but I'm certain that 1234 is set in both password boxes on first user page and also login code on supervisor tab.

Help!
 
Have checked windsows firewall which is on but softconsole is in the exceptions. Have ran the AVAYAFW.BAT file too. No joy. Interestingly when I try to login to softcosole from the voicemail PC I don't get an alarm in system status but I still get same message in softconsole

 
Don't use the 9.1 softconsole.
Use the 9.0 version.

I forgot to tell you that softconsole is completely rewritten and thus it probably won't work on 9.0.

Tried both on two user PC's and just trying from the voicemail PC
 
It's listed under the V9 downloads with v4 version and looks the same as its been for a long time. Even the V9 version looks the same with the same skin exept the browse button has gone and you cant leave password blank...

Someone must have installed softconsole on v9 or whats the point of the v9 receptionist license??
 
Softconsole v4.x works with IPO up to 9.0 and Softconsole 9.1 only works with IPO 9.1 not vice versa.

As tlpeter said it is completely new with the same features and the same old skin. Seems that they didn't have enough time to create a new skin before GA...
 
9.0 working on the voicemail PC but not on the client PC's. I'm thinking this is going to be network related as believe the client PC's are on 192.168.9.x and VM PC on 192.168.8.x though the subnet does allow for this...
 
Looks like a missing routing entry in IPO? Can you ping IPO from the client workstation?

Could be a block rule in the customer's firewall as well.
 
Softconsole can see the PBX when you browse for it so assume pings are ok, there is a default route in the IPO to the LAN which has a 192.168.8.x gateway.. System status generates an alarm regarding password so communication must be there...

Yes the password is set as 1234 in both boxes on the user tab and in the supervisor login page. I can log into softconsole with this user from the voicemail PC but not from two client PC's with the same details however system status creates an alarm regarding password..
 
Try turning of the firewall.

Unfortunately can't turn it off completely as managed by group policy by the IT company but I'm assured it is in all necessary exceptions...........
 
Let them run the firewall batch file.
Otherwise tell them it is there problem.

OK this is getting weird now... I can log soft console in as pre-existing users but not the reception user I have created?! Even if I delete the user I created, copy and paste a known working user I still get Login Unsuccessful. Please try again message when I try to log in with the new extension number..... In fact if I randomly try to login with some of the extensions on the system some give "no license " message (as would expect as didn't tick "receptionist" or this login unsuccessful message...

The users that do work are on different networks within the subnet so its not network related and its not intermittent issue as can repeatedly login with some users and not others after several attempts...

What could possibly be differentiating the working and non-working users?!
 
I have seen 9.1 Manager corrupt several pre 9.1 system configs in new and interesting ways :) Did you use 9.1 Manager on this R9 system?

 
I would have done on a recent system move, yes........... [evil]

Anything to highlight if there is corruption other than the fact some users will log into softconsole and some won't?!
