Really. What is the difference? Why do the canned Crystal reports use one SO record file when it can use the basic SO_whatever files as well?

The CRW files get populated when you actually print or preview the report. You'll find that in many instances the report generation is much faster than using the usual data entry files. The time it takes to generate the report is often critical when printing lots of invoices, etc.
