Has anyone out there ever tried to get monitoring going on your windows servers via snmp instead of just using perfmon or tools like Netiq Appmanager? I am wanting to pull snmp-based performance data from Windows so I can marry it to MRTG data about our network devices and get one window on all of our performance data for correlation of when there is a performance problem on the server, what is happening on the network.
My biggest concern is that this dll isn't loaded when snmp is loaded. So, I am worried about versions and whether it is updated by a later Service Pack and whether I will have to re-apply a service pack to get this happy. I am also looking for any anecdotal evidence on performance or stability problems on your systems after you have done this.
