Current exchange config:
4 exchange servers- 2 in one site and 1 in a second site. I have an exchange server in a DMZ for Internet only (no connectors to corporate exchange servers). Also using OWA for internal exchange servers on separate IIS 4 server. Client’s outlook profiles are configured with exchange and Internet e-mail services. In the outlook profile the Internet e-mail service is configured with info to exchange server in DMZ and the exchange service is configured for 1 of 3 servers on internal network. Site connector using x400 connects both sites. I looked at the mailboxes and they are configured with MS, SMTP and x400 addresses.
Since the connector between sites is only using the x400, can I remove MS and SMTP addressing?
My problem is I want to setup internally (Intranet only) the smtp to receive mail from a Unix box. Once I do this any internet e-mail from my outlook client (exchange in DMZ) is trying to be delivered through internal exchange server, instead of external server that outlook internet e-mail service is configured to send to.
