hey all, I've been working on this problem for hours now..I have php running with IIS6 on a Win2003 Webserver.
PHP works fine, but when I try to use the IIS SMTP feature it will not send the mail (this is going off of a php script), not sure where else to go...any suggestions?

thanks in advance,

alright, I've decided to stay up and work on this some more...otherwise I would not sleep..and if I did I'd be dreaming about my being an email getting lost in route...

anyways, I think I found my answer...this is for you all who might have the same issue...

Answer:
No PTR records exist for 10.10.10.10 [Neg TTL=3600 seconds]

Details:
ns1.itworksnot.net. (an authoritative nameserver for 10.10.10.in-addr.arpa., which is in charge of the reverse DNS for 10.10.10.10)
says that there are no PTR records for 10.10.10.10.

To get reverse DNS set up for 10.10.10.10, you need to speak to your Internet provider. You could also
check with administrator@itworksnot.net., who is in charge of the 10.10.10.in-addr.arpa. zone.

Note that all Internet accessible hosts are expected to have a reverse DNS entry (per RFC1912 2.1),
and many mailservers (such as AOL) will likely block E-mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry.

Now I've tried this out, and received the email just fine without making any adjustments to the IIS server.... and to think it took me over 4 hours to figure that one out!

well thanks in advance for any replies that would have come [thumbsup2]
