SMTP Mail from format

e2k mail works to most domains but to a selected one it has a problem. I think it's because it won't allow an address unless it is encapsulated ie..

mail from:<user@domain.com>

is ok but

mail from:user@domain.com

is NOT ok..

is this within some RFC or is it the sending side that needs to allow the non-encapsulated format.
