I've tried to enable the Vitual IMAP connection on exchange 2003 and it won't start. Are there restrictions to running IMAP alongside a Vitual SMTP connection? If not where's the best place to start to get it up and running. The settings for IMAP seem to infer that it requires a free IP address.

You need to go into services and set the services to automatic, and start them. The IMAP and POP3 services are disabled by default. After you get the services started, you can go in through ESM and start the virtual servers.
