I have several 9x machines in my domain that are not installing the client components. Some machines are, some are not, and I can't find the difference between an "good" machine and a "bad" machine.

Any suggestions?

Look at the subnet of the clients IP addresses. Are these machines all on the same subnet? Many people forget to define the site properly. Without properly setting up the site, you can run into similar problems.

Also, check for the c:\windows\MS\logs directory for log files. Edit these logs files and see if you can determine what the problem is from here.\

All machines are in two subnets. Both subnets are defined properly on the server.

The log files indicate that the client is getting installed, but not all components are showing up.

Anyone familar with the component install stopping at the Available Programs Manager Win32? This is were the components stop installing as indicated by the sms control panel applet. Base Components reads "Installed" and Available Programs Manager Win32 is reads "Not Available:.

You may want to check the Binding order of the protocols, if you have more then one protocol install, if TCP/IP is not bond first it may fail.
