I need some help on SMS technology. Our group is working on a project which will allow a user to subscribe to a particular service e.g news updates, horoscopes, etc. We'll be using a nokia 3310 and data cable as the SMS server. Has anyone any suggestions of the software or process that we should undertake to complete the project?

Either that or get a leased line straight into the telcos SMSC, but for a heavy fee.
SMS data server is called an SMS gateway. That's what kannel.org provides. Read up on SMS hex. to get started. All the best.
