Hi,

My SM is using capital Letters in its hostname. then the domain is all small letters: (ASM.sub.domain.com)
The CN I use in my identity CA is small letters only: CN=asm.sub.domain.com

My DRS is failing when trying to register to System Manager. Anybody encountered this?

Assuming you did not create DNS entries for the servers.

Use lowercase hostnames and "assuming" you are on 7.1.3 or higher use the editHosts command to add the SM to the SMGR hosts table.

I did create in my DNS servers as small letters. The /etc/host file is in this format: ASM.sub.domain.com & SMGR.sub.domain.com
Does it matter? Is it case sensitive?

Host files in unix are supposed to be case insensitive. But as you are finding out when you take COTS servers and try to mesh them together you will get mixed results depending on how the entries are made in all the respective servers.

I would take a look at the /var/log/Avaya/mgmt/drs/drs......log (something along these lines) on System Manager to see the actual cause of the DRS failure.

I would also verify the SMGR CA is in the trusted server listing of the Session Manager on System Manager (Inventory>Elements>select SM>click more>select trusted certificate authorities.

Is the SMGR on 7.1.x and the SM on 7.0.x or 6.3.x? If so, upgrade the SM to the same release level as SMGR.
