Hi Team,

first time playing around with bulk import. Can anyone correct my steps below on what I'm going to do:

1. in SMGR, configure 1 SIP extension where all features are set like Presence/IM, CM and SM registration and save it.
2. from the User Management --> Manage Users --> Export the created SIP extension.
3. This will generate an excel file.
4. Edit that excelsheet and populate the same value but need to change the "extensions", populate the name of the user, save it and import back to SMGR from User Management --> Manage Users --> Import users.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Also let me know if there are any gotcha's.

Don't change any formatting of the Excel file.

yup, that portion i know. thank you. Any other thoughts?

There are definitely some odds and ends to look at. The SIP Handle populates over many SHEETS in the workbook. It all needs to be populated/updated/corrected. Easiest way to address 95% of it is to do a find/replace on the extension.,,, find 1001, and replace with 1002 but select OPTIONS and make sure it replaces through the entire workbook...not just 1 SHEET. Then populate the name info for the user on the 1st sheet and try to import.

I like User Provisioning Rules.

Something like ManageEngine AD Plus is a web server that you can feed a CSV into. Name/number/email address is about all you need and let the UPR build em all out. Just my preference.
