I have the main system up and working. It is a CS1000E with MG1010 cabinets. It is HA with two CPPM Cards supporting the Call Server. Remote site is set up with MG1010 cabinets, and the CPMG is installed with the base Linux (with 3 patches, SS/CS applications, Latest SP, and the default DB for the CS portion).

I have set all my GR settings at the Main site:

1. BKR settings for the Backup Rule.
2. NO BKPS since I will have multiple Secondary Call Servers
3. GRDRC block, with Secret String and State Control Block.

I can ping from the Main site to the ELAN IP address on the SMG side and vice versa. I can even FTP from a Signaling Server at the Main Site to the CPMG SS on the SMG side, so I know FTP is open, but when I try to do a manual database replication, or when I EDD and set up the DB Replication it fails 100% of the time.

Is there something I am missing here. I don't want to say network issue because I can ping back and forth between ELAN IP Addresses, but I can't find any log to tell me why I'm not able to replicate.

Any ideas?

Do you have the correct packages for Geographic Redundancy. Different Packages for the Main vs the SMG. You will also have to define the BKR and the GRDRC block in the SMG.

404 in the host and 405 in the remote.

do I have to define those for the secondary back to the primary before the first replication?

=>new bkpr 1 SCS 10.0.0.10(elan of primary) 2

=>new grdrc (backup rule number) (how replciation occurs) (arstr) (asysld)
=>new grdrc 1 schd no no

Yes, you have to define it in the backup before the 1st replication. Then it will ask you if you want to mask the IP info in the replication and definitely say yes to this.
