I use the Tapit Call Accounting software product on several Norstar accounts with a Norstar SMDR interface.

I wanted to know what call detail recording information you get from the BCM with the standard BCM software? Report parameters, report options & market parameters? Is an SMDR device required for detailed call accounting reports?

Does anyone know if Tapit works well on BCM?

The BCM has it's own built in CDR client. You can use your tapit with the BCM. You will get the same type of call reporting that you do with the Norstar.

Are you saying that SMDR6 Interface is not required for Tapit?

How can I view the call detail information that's available with the standard software the BCM was installed with?

Thanks.

It's not so much software that is installed in the BCM. It looks much the same as if you were to hook up a laptop to the SMDR and look at the data using Hyperterminal. If you have put your BCM on the network you should be able to get access to the CDR client on the BCM. Refer to the docs built in the BCM for CDR info.

Thanks for the info. The question my client has is can they get detailed info on long distance calls made each month by Norstar extension with what comes standard on BCM? Or do they need to purchase a 3rd party software package like Trisys EX Call Accounting to get this info in a report?

Thanks for any help out there with this.

nortel does not make call accounting packages for norstar/ bcm ... if you need formatted reporting you need 3rd party s/w

What sort of long distance call detail is available on BCM without 3rd Party software? I realize it won't be formatted into reports.
