smart tax

trying to set up smart tax in an aloha pos system version 5.3 where we have both inclusive and exclusive tax application. I have enabled the smart tax in the store settings and still does not work when a food item is coupled with a drink(beer) it still only charges tax on the food only rather then both items. I have read that I must configure the inclusive tax to become exclusive once it is joined with a non inclusive item. I have looked and can't figure that out please help

All items should be set to exclusive tax. Food should have it's own exclusive tax and liquor, beer, wine should have their own separate exclusive tax. Under the bar menus you will do a tax reroute from exclusive liquor to inclusive liqour.
