Hi
At work, we connect to various of our clients using VPN client softwares from the 3 manufacturers mentioned in the title. Unfortunately the products interfere with each other so it is not possible for our support people to install multiple VPN clients on the same machine (I know about the latest Cicso version that claims compatibility with the rest but I have to assume we can only upgrade if our clients okay the upgrade).
All 3 manufacturers claim to implement all the relevant RFCs so I'm assuming that it should possible to use a generic VPN software that is based on common standards and without all the bells & whistles and proprietary extensions all manufacturer add. Is there such a solution? If not, are there any compelling reasons other than "nobody has coded it yet" that would stop this idea from working?
