Hi all,
We're a small shop-65 workstations/laptops, 3 servers currently but we're growing to 2 more servers and require more file storage.

I'm looking at putting a 3TB NAS in to handle future requirements of data storage but need to be able to back it all up of course and need to migrate from our current local tape drive backups of each server to something more centralised.

I'm thinking of building a backup server that will handle backups of all the servers (and possibly images of the workstations or laptops once a month)
centralising seem sthe way to go but I'm not sure what software would be best and also need to think about what kind of backup server I'd need to do this. Also wondering whether LTO would be the most efficient(in term sof cost/perf etc) for us to go.

One of our servers is a file server currently and is getting close to 85% capacity. The other two are app servers.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Now I've just seen something that i was interested in a long time ago-Idealstor.
has anyone used their Teralyte to backup data/servers etc in an SMB?

Maybe D2D is better in terms of growth and performance-though whether this is the case across the network i don't know. Othe r factors come into play other than just the speed of writing to the disk.
