Our setup is a little different. CO PRI -> CS1000 -> Session manager -> Ip Office. Callpilot for VM. CS100 7.6 at main site. Ip Office 9.0.5.0 at remote site. Ip Office is connected via SM Line. we 4 digit dial internal calls, cdp-dsc on the cs1000, short codes on the IP Office. how can i change the outgoing call id on the SM line? right now IP Office user 7779 shows an outside world call id as simply 7779 and needs to show (xxx)xxx-7779.

Are you using the "s" to specify a CPN when dialing over the shortcode to SM?

for ease of testing i have created a user short code: user is 7779. I have replaced the last for digits of the local number with - to protect the innocent.

code: 2
Feature: Dial
Line Group ID:98888
Telephone Number: 9420----s8063517779 resulting call id 7779
Telephone Number: 9420----si8063517779 resulting call id 7779

no matter what i put in the Telephone Number field the 7779@xxx.xxx.biz never changes to a 10 digit number, or appears to get altered in any way.

11/23/00 10:28:19 PM-609ms Line = 17, Channel = 1, SIP Message = Invite, Call Ref = 36, Direction = From Switch, From = 7779@xxx.xxx.biz, To = 9420----@xxx.xxx.biz

there is no SIP tab on the user page. I have read that this is where the outgoing Sip call id would be changed.

i think you may need to do this in the session manager.

one of our other IP Office's is setup with a Sip line and a SM line. but both lines point to the Session Manager. this creates the Sip tab under the user. the SIP line is only used by the ars table for outside calling. this works ok. but it doesn't make sense to me to have both. it seems that there would be a place/way to set the outgoing call id over a SM line.

I think the SIP tab is only available when you set the DISPLAY NAME field under the SIP URI under the SIP LINE to "Use Internal Data". Hope this helps.

i did read this at avaya's site:
•==> NSi is not supported by SIP.
•==> shotcodes are only for PRI/ISDN.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The outgoing caller ID is part of authentication with the SIP provider, so features for manipulating CLI (eg. short codes) are not supported on calls going to SIP.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

from my understanding (which isn't much)a SM line is just a specialized Sip line. but it doesnt add all the options ilke the sip tab and the local URI.
