After burning Cds using the "disc cpy" feature of Nero Express, The whole computer is extremely sluggish for about 10 minutes or till I restart. Its almost as if the system is tired from burning! I figured that since Disc copy copies the cd to the HDD before burning it to the blank disc, that it was busy erasing the image, thus slowing the computer down after burning. Problem is that my friend has a machine of lesser design and uses the same feature with Nero and has none of this slowdown whatsoever! Here is my specs vs. my friends PC:
Mine:
Pentuim 3 1.2Ghz
512meg SDRAM PC133
40gig X2 HDDs (Maxtor slave - Seagate Master DMA on)
Yamaha 44x CD-RW (master)
Pacific Digital DVD Rom (slave)
WinXP Home with all updates
Nero 5.5 (latest build)
His:
AMD K-62 300Mhz
256meg SDRAM PC133
30gig WD HDD (DMA on)
Samsung 24x CD-RW
DVD-ROM (Unknown Brand)
Windows 2000 Pro
Nero 5.5 (latest build)
I thought that maybe the buit in CD burning prog in XP was the culprit. I made sure to disable it(even disabled the service) with no luck. I also shut down my antivirus while burning. As you can see, this is a stupid problem to have.
