Hi,

Can somebody please explain to me how to install/configure SLP on a Netware Server 6.5 with Support Pack 1.

I try to load it up (slpda.nlm) and it says it cannot start because i have not configured any scopes??

Any help greatly appreciated, as i am a newbie to Novell.

Thanks,

Chris

there is an excellent tid on this

something like configuring a named scope

The thing of it is, when SLP was in it's early stages, you could run SLPDA the first time and it would create all the default stuff for you.

That has since changed with NW6 so you have to know a little more about what you're trying to do. It's kinda like trying to run DNS or DHCP.. It's not going to work until you configure it.

A lot of TIDS talk about the original default method but you should be able to find something on creating them manually.
