Under what circumstance should I set up a SLP DA on the network?
Currently, I'm running a NW65 system without SLP DA. The Novell Client takes a very long time before it can discover the Tree-names of the trees on the network.. and sometimes, no tree-name appears at all. When IP is entered directly at the Tree name textbox... all info required for login appears right away (I use contextless login).
I'm using Novell Client 4.83 and 4.90 sp2 on the network. Both client experience the same problem.
Should I set up a SLP DA in such a case? I'm thinking to set up the DHCP to distribute DA info to the workstations... but I'm not sure if I'm on the right track. ... the thing is, I don't even know how to set up a SLP DA to run on the server. I tried load SLPDA.NLM on the server and the server returns "module initialization error".... I think that's because I don't even have a configuration for the SLPDA module.
Please help...
