I have a W2K server running dhcp & dns.
Once our XP Pro desktops have booted and you try and open a word or excel file on the server, there can sometimes be a huge delay, maybe a full minute or so. Finally it will come up. Once you have opened the first one the next several documents open very quickly.
I can browse the Internet without any problems.
Each workstation is pointed to our internal dns server (which is pointed to itself and external dns numbers are in the forwarders tab). I can ping by both netbios and ip without any problems.
Any suggestions on what is causing the huge lag??
Thanks for any help...
