I find web reporting very slow because I can't use indexes or server for speed. If I do use it I get the error message 'Error detected by database dll'. Also I can't view reports in my browser if they were created with the Crystal SQL Designer.

How can I create reports for the web so that they would be comparable to *normal* reports?

Thanks for any advice, Tomaz

Hi Tomaz,

Our configuration for running Crystal reports is :
1. The server has crystal v8 installed.
2. We use DNS connections for SQL (ODBC)
3. Reports are based on a SQL stored procedure, this is so that only the data needed is passed back to the report.

Then when you are calling a report via a URL it should look like : "
For each parameter in your report you need to use the prompt0 for first param, prompt1 for second and so on.

If your DSN has a password set then this will also need passing in the URL.
E.G. DSN was set up using the account : User = SA, Password = SA so your URL = User0=SA,Password0=SA

With reguard to the error msg you get, try and view the report on the server using crystal and if that is OK then try view in the browser.

Hope this helps.
