I've got about 10 dimensions in my powercube (I know it's a lot but my users insist). When I drag dimensions into my rows and columns some dimensions hardly take any time to process but others can take 5 minutes. The cube is just 20MB and takes 5 minutes to create. I wouldnt mind if it got a lot bigger and took longer to create if that would speed up the response times in Powerplay. Is there something in particular I would have to look at to speed things up?

thanks.

You could try and alter the partitioning setting to give you slower build time and faster access time.

To be honest, noone has ever adequately explained to me how to set this up, most of the Cognos gurus that I have spoken to; sort of stick their finger in the air and take a guess :)

But there may be somoene on this list that can give you a better idea about it. Otherwise, I would run a test that is not on the live cube and just fiddle with the settings until I got some improvement.

Kind Regards
Jeannette
