Hello all
I have a new windows xp laptop which has been added onto a windows 2k domain although this process was painfully slow. Printing to a network printer is either too slow or documents do not print at all.
My searches to find a reason for this has been far from fruitful
Observations and additional info that may help:
[ul]
[li]The server was upgraded from NT4 server to 2k server by another IT worker.[/li]
[li]Uses DHCP for allocation of addresses (set up wit NT4 server)[/li]
[li]all machines previously on domain before upgrade have no problem printing to network printer[/li]
[li]adding the machine to a different 2k domain was much faster and printing was not a problem[/li]
[/ul]
I have a voice telling me that it may have been the NT4 -> 2k domain upgrade which is contributing to the general slowness of this network and giving me the problem with printing from a newly added machine. Maybe something was overlooked when upgrading which is causing me the headache now?
