Slow maximize in steps.

I would like to be able to click/move mouse over object and have a discription show up but, here is the catch, it opens up from a . to a box. Ex:

Trying to keep track of where bottles are in plant and exp. date. I figured everything else out but this. I have it so they can view all bottle locations. But i want to have a description of bottle to pop up when clicked on or pointer is over area. Any help would be appreciated.
