I have several XP Pro SP3 laptops connecting through Citrix vpn to our domain from a remote location. Logon to the laptops, before they make the Citrix connection, is very slow (5 min), and I see "cannot find\connect to domain controller" errors in the log. I have read many of your recommendations in this forum. I don't think a local profile would work for these users, I need them to have only one desktop. They want to be able to use wireless as well.
I was hoping someone might know of a timeout setting in the registry that controls how long the computer waits to find the domain controller before it gives up.....I think that shortening that might be the answer.
Thanks!

This might have that sort of information?

TCP/IP and NBT configuration parameters for Windows XP

What have you got the policy set for here?
-
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon

See if changing the option makes any difference?

Red x's on network mapped drives, services not started

Thanks,I'll look at those. Have already tried "Always wait" policy, it's not configured, and network drives only map with a logon script.
