slow logon to domain-help!

Well I don t know what more to say, I have tried everything in my "power" to make this work.I also tried everything the posts mention, nada.
My laptop with a fresh installation of Win XP is taking forever to log to the domain with a Novell login window. It stays at applying personal settings. Is there someting I can do to resolve this? DNS are fine, tried the "always wait for the network..." on MMC console, looked at everything that needed attention.

Please help, this is driving me nuts!

It is without question a DNS issue. You are likely pointing at the file server and not the DNS server. But be certain you are absolutely up-to-date with your Novell Client for Windows.
