I have two NT4 TSE servers running Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 functioning as thin client desktops. When a user logs on, it can sometimes take minutes before the hourglass disappears and they can access the desktop. Logon scripts process quickly and the desktop appears but Explorer.exe is consuming up to 50 percent of the cpu. The hourglass is not always present, but the cpu utilization always pegs. If multiple users are logging on at the same time the cpu hits 100 percent. Happens with roaming and local profiles regardless of profile size. I'm not positive, but this problem seems to only occur with the ICA client and not the RDP client. We are using a combination of WYSE 3000 series terminals.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
