Slot 0 question

On OPT 61, I need to add 2 Digital Line cards and there are 2 open '0' slots on various shelves, these appear to wired back to main distribution frame. Can they be used and I just ENL card ? and build 1st extn to check it works ?

If you have identified these as an IPE Shelf, which it sounds you have confirming your backplane wiring then you can slot the card in, enable the card and build your digital port/s, assuming you have the TN Licences?

Ok, there are lots of spare tn's. It has 1200 extns currently. This should be okay ?

yes that should be fine.. the licences has nothing to do with slots, but are just software keycodes.. ld 22 slt will show you how many more sets you can put on those cards

port 0 is not any different then any other port.. any slot in an ipe can be used for any type of card..

You can only add 29 more digital sets, if you are planning any expansion, I would get an order in with your vendor

this would require software update to expand digital and analogue sets as there are just a few left as well ?

depending on your release, it's an ISM upgrade, can be done during the day w/o interuption. Generally, the vendor will send a tech to do it and it takes 5 minutes!

I only have 3 slot 0 spare on the system. So it looks like I will need another shelf. current software 25.15

As a reminder it doesn't have to be slot '0' it can be all slots 0-15 as long as the backplane is cabled to match

You can put it in any Slot 0 to 15 if it is wired to the MDF.

Put the card in and program a set to it to ENABLE it.

there are only 3 spare slots left on the whole system, and I need 4 DLC & 2 FALC's so I will need another cube to installed and wired out, do I need to upgrade the software or just order the cube OPT 61 on v 25.15

REQ LUC This will list all unused card slots in system.
