Slim CDROM Connector Problem

I have a TEAC CD224E (slim CDROM) with an adapter fitted that has 50 pins (no separate power or audio connector). The mobo has a similar connector marked CDROM. What I need is a cable with 50-pin female connectors on each end, the connectors being 50mm by 4mm. My question is - what's it called? I've done a lot of surfing and can't find a supplier.

Thanx in advance if you can help.

It sounds like you are trying to fit a Laptop CDRom into a PC?

It's a Book PC - only takes a slim CDROM (as an option). Manual just says "Get your dealer to fit CDROM" - no reference to connector. It's not physically possible to use an adapter and connect it to the 40-pin IDE.

I'd say this is likely to be a manufacturer specific part. Often these cables are like "film-strip pcb track" material and maybe specific to your model of PC.

Contact PC manufacturer.
