Good day all...

I am making a slide-show for my local youth group. They want it themed to a few songs and then burnt onto discs for the youth to keep.

I thought, "Hey, Premiere will work with this!" But I'm running into troubles using the transitions between slides. I have the first still image in 1A and the second in 1B with the transition filling the overlap, yet it still won't fade in and out.

So, is there a way to get Premiere to fade in and out of still images. And, is there other software that I should be using that will allow me to customize my slideshow with added usability?

You will likely need to render before you see the transition. Place the work area bar over the section of interest, or perhaps the whole project, and hit the ENTER key.

Premiere 6 offers a semi-automatic way to do this job which you might want to look up in the on-line help under 'automate to timeline'.

My current project uses nothing but stills. Here's how I do my crossfades and such:
