Slave hard drive will show up in windows xp without add new hardware

I recentley added a small second hard drive it is a
JTS Palladium P3850, and set to Primary slave the bios sees it as such, and when I add new hardware it is in the list as being installed however Windows does not allot it the F: drive which it does when I add new hardware. But it is pain having to run add new hardware manually everytime I boot up. Any ideas please

What's the problem? If it's seeing it, go into Disk Management and assign it whatever drive letter you want. Jennifer Sigman
