Oracle used to have a nice spreadsheet where you could fill in all the information on the size and users and it would suggest server configurations. We are planning on upgrading from 8i to 10g with a new server and I can't find the spreadsheet (if it still exists) on the oracle site. Does anyone know where it is located or know of a similar tool? I have sized servers before, but I have no experence with Oracle 10G sizing requirements.

P.S.
The search tool on oracle.com is simply horrible!!! (IMHO)

Bill,

Oracle probably demolished the spread sheet because too much liability resulted from the many holes that may have existed therein: If an estimate suggested a configuration that was either too large or too small, customers could easily prove damages.

So, a TAR request to Oracle MetaLink or a call to your favourite, trusted Oracle consultancy may be your best alternative if you wish to spread/share the risks of a personal estimate.
