Good Morning,

I am having a pretty strange issue with size restrictions. I have a user that I want to be able to receive attachments of any size and so far it is not working. We have a front end and a back end exchange server and the NDR that I get when trying to send to this user is from the Front end server saying "This message is larger than the current system limit or the
recipient's mailbox is full. Create a shorter message body or remove attachments and try sending it again."

Now here are my settings. Global receive: nothing specified. Global send: 7500kb. And I have looked in the smtp virtual server for BOTH servers and there is nothing. I have also looked in the connectors for both and there is nothing there either. The only thing I can think is I thought I read somewhere that the Global send and receive uses the least of the two even if you don't have one checked it would use the other if it is a limit. Is this true? I am at a loss.

Thats crazy, then whats the point of having both send and receive as options??

Also, how can I control JUST the flow of mail INTERNALLY? I have a third party the checks for SPAM from any mail externally so I am not worried about that. Any thoughts?

You can control message size in ADUC on the exchange general tab, delivery restrictions button, rather than Globally if you want to, ie different send and receive.

What do you want to do ref mail flow internally ?

Thanks for the reply! Ok, if I did it in ADUC I would have to do it for each of my 200 accounts...thats a little tedious, but if its the only way! Is there any other way? As for controlling mail internally, I just don't want users inside to be able to send to each other files over a certain size, but I want them to be able to receive files of a different size from the internet. Make any sense?
