Hi

I have installed and configured Exchange 2003 in my environment to a 15gb partition. However I realised that is not enough space. Is it possible to move the MDBDATA folder to another parition without having any implications to the running of the Exchange program.

Also the MDBDATA folder keeps filling up with plently log files approxmiately 5mb in size each. Why is this, is this necessary. Its hogging the space on my drive. What can I do to stop this?

Thanks

Briteeyez,
You can run Optimizer and that will allow you to move the MDBDATA folder but you will have to stop all services on the server.

Those 5 MB files are transaction logs and you do not want to randomly delete them. If you want to know which ones you can safely remove then go on google and search for something like "How to Tell Which Transaction Log Files Can Be Safely Removed". They should be getting removed if you are performing back-ups. If you don't backup you mailboxes then I believe they serve no purpose. But not bet on it.
