Size of a blob element

Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I'm programming an Intranet that has a lot of Word Documents (BLOB's). But I'm not able to do a SQL that returns the size of the Documents (I've tried to cast the blob in order to use the "length" function).

If someone can help me, I will apreciate it very much :)
