We have an internal server that our machines connect to for mcafee dat updates. I have recently installed a security template on my machine (xp) that causes my update procedure to fail. The error I get is "error occurred while downloading file sitestat.xml". When I revert back to the default xp security template ( setup security.inf) the updates work fine. Does anyone know what setting would cause my machine to be unable to locate/open/read/download (or whatever it does)the sitestat.xml file???

Problem solved! It turns out that the setting in my security policy that was stopping McAfee from updating was
Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (always)... Once I disable this, McAfee worked fine.
