I all, i am a rookie we designer....If thats what you want to call it....

I created a web site using word and excel files saving them as .htm on our local network. I put these files on our IIS server using a second IP address. When I try to connect via IE i get this error.

"The site you were trying to reach does not currently have a default page. It may be in the process of being upgraded. Please try again later."

I have my default page as homepage.htm do i need to change that to an .asp and why?

Thanks to all!!!!

IIS uses these filenames for default documents as standard

default.asp
default.htm
index.asp
index.htm

and default.aspx is added if .net is installed.

so your "homepage" needs to be one of those names.
