I'm contemplating a site-to-site VPN using VPN-1 Edge XU boxes at my remote sites that will connect to the host Checkpoint NG . I currently connect to my remote sites via frame relay. Does anyone have a setup like I'm considering. How's the performance? Can you see the devices at the remote sites in My Network Places? Do the remote site PCs have to have the secure remote client loaded on them? Or does the XU box establish the tunnel? Do the remote sites need to have static IPs?

Thanks in advance!

We have some branches offices in another country that use the VPN-edge X series that connect to us via VPN. No you don't need SC installed on the PC's the VPN-edge Xseries does site to site. Yes, DHCP can be edabled on the other side and depending on how open you want your tunnel to be it is possible to browse across the tunnel. Performance, we have approx 60 clients at the 1 site and they use outlook from the desktop, with no issue other then the bandwidth from their ISP. If your branch office are in North America, you'll be laughing, at the bandwidth to cost saving you'll be making. I'd still see if you can get 1 as a demo for a couple weeks to play with prior to making the purchase. [cheers]
