Hi, I have set up an NT4 Server, with Site Server 3 and ILS. I want to use this as an ILS server on our internal lan for netmeeting. I followed the instructions from Microsoft, which call for the installation of various out of date MS products, and this seemed to go without error. LDAP is working, so when I try to connect to the server via netmeeting, LDAP logs my user details etc.

Netmeeting does not connect to the server though! Can anyone offer me any advice on configuring SS3 and ILS to allow netmeeting clients to connect? The info from Technet is pretty ropey, and I'm pretty sure i've followed all the instructions available, but netmeeting still won't connect.

The error it gives is: There was a problem connecting to the server. You may not be connected to the network or the server may be busy.

I have LDAP set up in SS3 to use tcp port 389, and this is working and listening on the server, and LDAP seems to be doing what it should, so what is preventing netmeeting from connecting?

Thanks for your help.

Adrian.

Hi, further to this, the problem seems to be with ldapcfg.dll, which fails to load when I open Internet Services Manager in MMC. This means that when I try to view the properties for LDAP in Internet Services Manager I get the message 'Unable to connect to Target Machine'. Also, the LDAP service reports itself as not starting on startup, even thought it IS running if I go to services in control panel.

I have searched the web, and i've found other people having the same problems when installing ILS, but I haven yet found anyone coming up with any solutions!

Any ideas?????

Thanks,

Adrian.
